For anyone interested in becoming a parish councillor there are 3 briefing sessions being held:
Daventry District Council – Monday 23rd March at 5.30pm (Lodge Road Council Chamber)
Northampton Borough Council – Wednesday 25th March at 5.30pm (The Guildhall)
South Northamptonshire District Council – 12th March at 5.30pm (The Forum)
These will talk through the election process for anyone interested in standing to be a parish councillor. They will all be the same, so if you cannot make the one at Daventry you would be welcome at one of the others.
If you cannot make any of the briefings, but are interested in standing, it is important to let you know that nominations must be delivered by hand. You can make an appointment with DDC to informally check the papers but these appointments will fill up quickly so I advise you to contact as early as possible. Please can you email firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment or call us on 01327 302507/311/321. Appointment times are from Monday 30th March to 8th April between 10am and 4pm (excluding the weekend).
If nomination papers have been handed in without an appointment then prospective candidates take their chances that the papers are correctly completed. If they are not, then they will have to complete a new paper and deliver it again to us or come back to add anything that has been missed.
